Subak museum is a special museum which only collecting the Balinese traditional agriculture tools and old documentation. This museum shows the highlights of the Balinese agriculture system that is known as Subak. The museum which inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra, former governor of Bali at October 13, 1981 is located in Sanggulan village, Tabanan regency. It takes about 40 minutes to reach this museum from Denpasar city.
What the see in the Subak museum ?
Entering the museum, visitors will experience a cool atmosphere due to the large trees that shades the museum. Subak museum consist of two main building, open and closed building. In the open building, visitors get the visualization of Subak demonstration in mini form which is consisted of a pool as relocation place of irrigation, a tunnel to flow the water from pool to the water relocation. The object that is displayed in this building are farmer equipmen
ts such as equipment to make irrigation system, farm processing, crop conservation and harvesting. And in closed building consist of a library, office and an exhibition stand where visitors are able to see demonstration of the object related to farmer work and a visual audio narrating Subak activities. This museum is very worth to visit by visitors who want know the farmer equipment and the lifestyle of Bali in the past.
